- ⅔ cup whole milk
- ⅔ cup italian seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
- splash of red wine (optional)
- ½ tsp dried parsley
- ½ tsp dried basil
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- red pepper flakes to taste
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- sliced mozzarella cheese
- jar of pasta sauce
Preheat oven to 375℉.
Combine the milk and breadcrumbs in a small bowl and set aside to thicken
Meanwhile, mix all other ingredients, except the mozzarella cheese and sauce, in a large bowl until well combined (don’t over-mix!)
Add the breadcrumb mixture and mix until just combined.
Roll into balls (I make around 14-16, depending on how big you like them) and place into a non-stick skillet.
Brush the tops with a little bit of extra virgin olive oil and bake at 375° for about 40-45 minutes until cooked through.
Once cooked, add sauce of choice to the pan and top with sliced mozzarella cheese. Bake for another 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted.
Serve in your hoagie roll of choice or over your favorite pasta and enjoy!
